Budd–Chiari syndrome
Budd–Chiari syndrome results from obstruction of hepatic venous outflow. Depending on the anatomy, treatment may include angioplasty, stenting or, in appropriate cases, TIPS.
Endovascular treatment
Venography defines the level of obstruction. Short-segment hepatic vein or IVC stenosis may be treated with balloon angioplasty and sometimes stent placement to restore venous drainage.
